My local quilt guild, Prior Lake Quilters, had their first quilt show last weekend. Our amazing show committee worked diligently on displays, registrations, raffle item, advertising, and all kinds of details related to planning and executing a successful show. They did an incredible job.
I sponsored a challenge for the guild with my MatchMaker book. This is a great stash-buster project, since each fabric is used in only two blocks. The MatchMaker quilt makes a fun game, where you try to find each pair of matching blocks. The blocks aren’t an exact match, since they have positive/negative fabric placement. The members could make any of the four quilts in the book, in any size. I was so pleased to see how many members participated!
Pat M. made the little quilt on the table (above) by re-drafting the block to her preferred style of miniature quilts. Adorable!
I was asked to put two of my show quilts on display. Here is Floral Tapestry:
Wallace and June won Viewers Choice awards, along with my Blooming Onions that won 2nd place! It was a great show, and I’m very proud of my guild for such an excellent production on their first quilt show!
